oh happy days :)

Sun May 25, 2008, 3:12 PM
I'm as happy as like I could ever be!
I got a job that pays 350$ a week , I start in the summer.I found something I like , I'm working at the racetrack! And I have to wake up at 4:00AM but oh well! like 350$ a week for just hot walking plus I have experiance so I get to have an extra 50$ for every two horses I walk after the race.I rode at freestyle today and I'm moving there for sure. One of the owners there (who I met today) she's the one who's getting me a job.I rode my friends thoroughbred today and he was heaven. It felt SO good to ride outside , because I like never ridden outside since FOREVER! Plus y friend who is getting me the job told me I could get a free horse at the track with all his stuff (tack and etc).
MORE COMING SOON!

Way to make me crazy jealous, that would be the most amazing job everrr. I don\'t even think Suffolk Downs does anything like that.

That\'s great about your new barn! I loveee riding outside. Plus Gus is a lot easier outside, the little monster.

And woah, a free OTTB. That is amazingg. If I ever do own a horse, I really, really, reallyyy want a TB. Because they\'re so gorgeous and versatile.

Also, I saw you in Jill\'s photo group, lol, is it ok if I friend you? I know that must be sooo random.

Oh and one last thing, I know I keep adding things on, ahahaa.. does this mean you might make enough to buy Barney one day? =]

Haha but I'm going to work full time in the summer , yay! I can buy more lessons and such! The racetrack is always looking for good homes of horses which don't make it on the track or arn't fast enough. My friend already got two free but she doesn't want anymore horses now since she doesn't ride them she just gets other people to.But as I woprk thier for longer I'll probably walk like lets say 5 horses after the race and for every two horses I walk I get 50$ added to the 350$.I'm hoping I can buy Barney but I don't think that 350$ is enough. If I had been 14 or 15 I would get two jobs just to be able to pay for him.Even during the school year (next year) I'll be in gr 8 and I'll be planning to work 7 days a week after I get home from school. At Creditview (old stable) I used to volunteer like 9 hours every Saturday helping the kids with horses and help teach in the lesson (even when I was 12 I did it).I hope I'll have enough money to pay for barney , his name used to be Bailey but they changed his name.I hope I get to buy him, oh and sure you can add me on facebook! :)

Wow. I don't think I'd get up that early to work at the track if it were me... But good job. Haha, I like my sleep. I need a job this summer, but I'm just going to be helping out at a barn in exchange for rides... Yay! No early morning stuff or anything :) Nice. BTW, OTTBs are really crazy. The need serious retraining. If I were you, I don't think I'd try to get a horse that way. Especially if I were a beginner. It takes a ton of time for OTTBs to calm down and learning to jump takes forever. But good luck!

I help out at my barn when I can too, though I never get paid or anything, just the occasional hack ride. But I always chose to ride Gus and he hates flatting, ahahaa.

And an OTTB would be such a fun project, I love the crazy ones, even though I would probably fall off a lot. In the end it'd be worth it. (:
